Ever day I take the Beach Road to go to my Office. I come across Gandhiji Statue, Kamaraj Statue and other prominent national leader statues on the Marina beach road. Gandhiji and Kamaraj statue are exactly opposite the DIG office. We all give respect to our National Leaders. But these statues are not well maintained and garlanded. Government Officials, CM, MPs, Judges, DIGs, pass the roads daily. But no one has the idea of garlanding the statue daily.
We spend crores of rupees on Security and Maintenance. Spending Rs.5000/- towards the garlands is not going to make the country poorer. The officials at the DIG office can depute a person to garland the Gandhiji and Kamaraj Statue daily. This is an honor we give to our National Leaders. Visitors to Marina Beach will also appreciate this gesture towards our Leaders.
