Singapore – Gandhiji Memorial

Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone on June 1950, at the site in Singapore’s Little India for the purpose of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial. The Memorial was first proposed by the Women’s Section of the Regional Indian Congress in Singapore just on day after Gandhiji was assassinated. The Memorial was closed from 1990. Restoration work was undertaken by the Hindi Society (Singapore).

Now the newly built Memorial was declared open by the City State’s President. The Memorial chairman thanked the Indian Government for donating the collected works of Gandhiji.
