Gandhiji's Glasses

In the year February 2009, at New York, Gandhiji's metal framed round glasses, sandals, pocket watch, dinner plate and bowl were auctioned and bought by Mr. Vijay Mallya.Gandhiji's grandson has requested the Indian Government to verify the authenticity of the glasses that has been declared as National treasure. He says that there is no proper evidence of Gandhiji wearing glasses in his early life in Londan, India and South Africa. Gandhiji started wearing glasses only during his appendix surgery  in 1924. There are pictures of Gandhiji with glasses while reading, spinning, and with Vinoba Bhave.
