Origin of Khadi

Once Mohammed Jinna wanted to felicitate Mahatma Gandhiji. So, he garlanded Mahatma with a homespun cotton towel. Jinna asked Gandhiji to accept it with great prestige. The name Khadi is an Arabic word which means prestige. So, the handmade clothes were called as Khadi.
